Prospectvision: Frequently Asked Questions
Prospectvision: FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions concerning how Prospectvision recovers lost customer touch points and sales opportunities.
Q. What does Prospectvision do?
It uncovers lost sales opportunities from your website: it identifies those visitors that have shown interest in your products and services but have not followed a call to action or filled in the Contact Us form.
Q. How does Prospectvision work?
We analyse every visitor to your website. Using our sophisticated Behavioural Inference Engine we can tell who is interested in your products & services and who is visiting for other reasons (investors, job seekers, etc). If they are interested then you need to be talking to them - and we give you enough of their details to be able to do this.
Q. What information does Prospectvision provide us with?
- It provides you with the organisation - and in most cases the city of origin of the enquiry
- It provides the contact telephone number
- It provides the area of interest - Which can be critical if you sell a diverse portfolio of products and services.
- It provides the search term they used to find you - So that you can be smarter with your marketing spend and so that your sales teams know which competitors you may be up against.

Q. What value might it hold for our business?
As we move into a less buoyant business environment, organisations are naturally looking for better return on existing investment. That's exactly what Prospectvision gives - a ten times increase in lead generation ROI.
Q. How could we use this information to add long term value and provide us with a better ROI?
The service provides your telemarketers and sales teams with prioritised and actionable leads that they can easily fit into their call planning schedule. New business opportunities and existing customers can be called at the point at which they are preparing to make a buying decision Prospectvision revolutionises lead generation as prospects are called precisely when they are receptive to your sales messages; your sales people know which companies to call and what to talk about. Prospectvision removes those whose behaviour infers they are not potential customers (job seekers etc) and only returns qualified and actionable leads (typically 10% of your visitors).
Q. How many leads does Prospectvision give me?
It varies from company to company and market to market and of course on how many visitors you get to your website. It can be anywhere between 7% and 25% of people visiting your website. However we found that 10% is a good average. So if you are currently getting 1,500 visitors each month then you might expect 35 leads a week.
Q. Surely companies will contact us if they are interested?
You might think so but in practice, they do not. Less that 1% of visitors to your website will follow a call to action; whereas around 40% are spending significant time learning about you as an organisation and your technology and products; often with a pattern of repeating visits. Their behaviour demonstrates that they are interested but you cannot engage with them.
Q. Why is it that less than 1% of my visitors follow a call to action?
- They want to do more research and forget to come back.
- They don't think you offer what they want because they didn't find it (even though you actually have a page on it.)
- Website design and content is very subjective - the site wasn't appealing to them.
Q. What about privacy laws and the data protection act?
The UK Data Protection Act 1998 is the law that governs the processing of personal information held on living, identifiable individuals. You must comply with the Act if your business processes personal information. Personal information for the purposes of the Act is data about living people who can be identified from that information, covering data such as customer and staff records. Prospectvision identifies an organisation not an individual; all organisation identifying information (name, location, phone number, website etc) is publicly available and disclosed & maintained by the identified organisation itself.
Q. Don't prospects feel uneasy if we contact them as a result of a visit to our website?
You will already be marketing to target organisations through sales calls, direct marketing, email marketing, telemarketing etc. All Prospectvision does is allow you to contact businesses who have demonstrated they have a need now; in other words prioritise your marketing activity by focusing on companies who are looking to buy. From the point of view of the target company your call/mailshot is just well timed. You are not swamping them with messages when they don't need them; but targeting your marketing where it is appropriate now.
Q. We have a lot of existing customers and the majority of our business is done through upsell. Would this solution still be of value to us?
You would have the opportunity to see when these organisations have been on your website so that you may follow up there enquiry. As we all know timescales in the buying process can change as well as there needs and unless your sales team are phoning these organisations on a regular basis you could be losing potential business.
